The Fluffy Jackets talk about their two first releases16. August 2019: Something from Nothing CD + DVD available from Amazon The Fluffy Jackets discuss their first EP (2007) while guests Manny Charlton (Nazareth) and Neil Murray (Whitesnake) talk about recording Fighting Demons (2014) at the legendary Sun Studio with Grammy winner Matt Ross-Spang. The interviews are exclusively available in the new Fluffy Jackets' limited-edition Digipack (DVD+CD) release Something from Nothing.
The Fluffy Jackets' debut album Fighting Demons from 2014 was a critical success, winning the "Best Studio Album of the Year" award, voted by listeners of the Blues Hour radio programme in the UK.
In the new documentary movie, Manny Charlton talks about the first session: "Helge asked if I wanted to guest on the album. I said, 'sure, where, when'? He said: 'Sun Studio in Memphis', and I said 'I am there'. I thought that I had to record there. Elvis, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis were all my heroes, you know? First generation rock, all the best records came out of Sun; Johnny Cash for god's sake, Roy Orbinson. The list is endless. They made some great music and it was a great studio".
Bassist Neil Murray (Whitesnake, Snakecharmer) also appears in the movie and comments: "it was a big step up in terms of professionalism, the musicians, engineer and the whole situation. It was a great experience to be doing something like that".
The album was engineered by Grammy Award winner Matt Ross Spang at Sun Studio and jointly produced by Manny Charlton and Fluffy Jackets singer / guitarist Helge Rognstad.
Helge comments: "We were happy that our distributor Cargo Records managed to plaster the record everywhere. Classic Rock Magazine also selected our single for a compilation reaching 60,000 subscribers, so this resulted in considerable radio airplay in UK, USA and across Europe, even reaching Israel and Russia".
