16. August 2019: Something from Nothing CD + DVD available from Amazon

Vocalist Alison Cooper has joined The Fluffy Jackets in a tribute to Glen Campbell. The performance was filmed for a music video at Westpoint Studio (London, UK). The music video is available on the new Fluffy Jackets documentary DVD Something from Nothing.

Alison Cooper and Helge Rognstad relaxing at Westpoint Studios in London, where they recorded the vocals for "Better Place". The music video is available on The Fluffy Jackets' DVD blues-rock documentary "Something from Nothing".

On the opening track of The Fluffy Jackets' new album, Alison Cooper can be heard, singing duet vocals on "Better Place".

Alison Cooper can also be credited for bringing The Fluffy Jackets together in the first place. After a chance meeting on the London Underground, she invited Helge to play guitar on a charity concert in Acton where he met fellow Fluffy Jackets founder Ian Robinson back in 2003.

The Something from Nothing documentary DVD includes an interview with Alison Cooper and a new music video "Better Place":

A tribute to Glen Campbell (RIP)
Glen Campbell was 81 years old when he passed away in 2017, leaving a great back catalogue of songs. His memory also lives on in the songs he played as part of the collective known as the Wrecking Crew in Los Angles. These legendary session musicians played on thousands of studio recordings in the 1960s and 1970s, including several hundred Top 40 hits.

The song "Better Place" is taken from the opening track on Campbell's farewell album Ghost on the Canvas from 2010. This was his final studio album while Campbell was in good enough health due to the debilitating Alzheimer's illness. "I really identified with Glen Campbell's wonderful lyrics, so "Better Place" was one of the first songs we picked for the new album" comments Fluffy Jackets' vocalist /guitarist Helge Rognstad.

"Our producer Manny Charlton came up with the arrangement. It sounds much heavier than the original but at the same time retains it's sensitive spirit. The guitar-solo on our version is simply stunning. I am also grateful to Alison Cooper who is singing her heart out on this particular track. It is one of my favorite songs on the new album".

The vocal overdubs were recorded at West Point Studio in Acton (London, UK) with Shane Shanahan as the vocal engineer (KANYE WEST, JEFF BECK). The music was recorded in Cordoba, Spain with producer Manny Charlton (NAZARETH) behind the dials. The music video is available on the documentary which comes with the limited Digipack release (DVD & CD).

About:
The Fluffy Jackets first appeared on the London scene with a self-titled EP in 2007, but it was not until 2014 that they made a dent in the charts with the debut album «Fighting Demons». Recorded at the legendary Sun Studio by multiple Grammy Award winning engineer Matt Ross-Spang, the outing won the Blues Hour’s «Best Studio Album of the Year» award and also earned the band their first international hit in «Why Don’t You Smile». The slow blues was made particularly memorable for featuring a sizzling guitar solo from Nazareth guitar legend Manny Charlton, backed up by bassist Neil Murray (Whitesnake) and Jerry Lee Lewis‘ drummer Rob Hall (The Killer Band). The band has just completed the anticipated follow-up. Released by Cargo Records UK, “Something from Nothing” will be available as a limited Digipack consisting of a nine track CD album and a two-hour DVD documentary film.
