Biography
Formed in 2006 London as a duo by guitarist & vocalist Helge Rognstad and drummer Ian Robinson, The Fluffy Jackets gained some favorable live reviews, performing in central London-venues over a 3 year period. The first Fluffy Jackets EP was recorded in 2007 and featured bassist Neil Murray (Whitesnake).

The debut album 'Fighting Demons' was recorded at the legendary 1950s Sun Studios in Memphis TN and released in 2014. The album featured special guests Neil Murray (Whitesnake), Manny Charlton (Nazareth), and Robert Hall (Jerry Lee Lewis). The album won the Best Studio Album of the Year 2014 award from The Blues Hour radio show (UK and Europe).

A Fluffy Jackets' single '44 Blues' was released in 2016, featuring special guest Manny Charlton. All proceeds went to staff at TeamRock (Classic Rock Magazine, Metal Hammer ++) who were made redundant without pay in December 2016.

In 2019, The Fluffy Jackets announced a new album feat. Manny Charlton. ‘Something from Nothing’ contains nine new songs. The recording process was filmed over a three-year period and highlights The Fluffy Jackets' history along with interviews, live performances and four new music videos. Bonus material include retrospective interviews with special guests Neil Murray (Whitesnake), Manny Charlton (Nazareth) and up-close inspection of guitars and amplifiers including a Gibson guitar previously used to record the Nazareth albums ‘Play’N the Game’ (1976) and ‘Expect No Mercy’ (1977).

What the press is saying:

"A sun-kissed ballad from The Fluffy Jackets. It's got a West Coast-infused heart of gold and a refrain that'll stay in your head for weeks to come". Classic Rock Magazine (UK, 2019) (review of single "Everything Must Change")

"I just listened to the new Fluffy Jackets album. It sounds really, really good" - Malcolm Dome, Classic Rock Magazine (UK, 2019)

"What a wonderful album and combination of musicians" - Get Ready to Rock (UK, 2019)

"Shakin' hellhounds from their trail, British bluesmen run from dusk to dawn, from the blue shadows into the house of blue light" - Let it Rock Magazine (Israel, 2014)

"The aggregation really hits their stride on the Bad Company-like classic rocker "Why Don't You Smile" where Helge doles out advice to a perennially-depressed fellow over a slow, bluesy lope that's punctuated by a couple of hot guitar solos from Charlton" - AntiMusic.com (USA, 2014)

"Fighting Demons is an entertaining story where heavy hard rock is encountering popular music and swinging blues. In short, you have the same attitude to musical variation here that was common on discs in the early 1970s" - Zero Magazine (Sweden, 2014)

"This is a rather tasty outfit." - Blues Matters (UK, 2014)

"Impressive blues chugging from The Fluffy Jackets" - Time Out London (UK, 2007)

"It's certainly possible that a slice of fortune sprinkled with talent may pluck this unknown group from obscurity into the realms of the alternative rock scene" - Lucem Fero (UK, 2007)
