BIO

The Fluffy Jackets are energetic blues rockers who deliver a sound that draws from the early days of blues, Americana and classic bands like Bad Company. Formed in 2006 in London by guitarist/vocalist Helge Rognstad and drummer Ian Robinson, The Fluffy Jackets gained traction with live performances in central London for three years. Their debut EP was recorded in 2007 at Cowshed Studio (London, UK) with producer Teo Miller (Blur, Happy Mondays) and featuring Neil Murray (Whitesnake, Black Sabbath). Signing with Cargo Records in 2013, they recorded their first album at the legendary Sun Studio (Memphis, USA) with notable guests. "Fighting Demons" (2014) garnered critical acclaim, produced by Manny Charlton (Nazareth) and engineered by Matt Ross Spang (Jason Isbell, Rival Sons). Their sophomore album, "Something from Nothing" (2019), included a tribute to Glen Campbell. This came with a two-hour DVD; a documentary covering the band’s decade long existence. Collaborating with The Halloween Project (Norway) in 2021, they honored Manny Charlton's 80th birthday with Nazareth covers featuring special guests Ronni Le Tekrø (TNT) and Neil Murray (Whitesnake). A new album is expected in 2024.

Press and testimonials

"Everything Must Change is a tasteful, tender ballad" Loudersound (UK, 2019)

"The aggregation really hits their stride on the Bad Company-like classic rocker "Why Don't You Smile" where Helge doles out advice to a perennially-depressed fellow over a slow, bluesy lope that's punctuated by a couple of hot guitar solos from Charlton" - Antimusic.com (USA, 2014)
