The Fluffy Jackets Announce The Comparison Blues
The Comparison Blues (2026) is the fourth full-length album from The Fluffy Jackets and features eight new original tracks. Recorded and produced at The Fluffy Jackets Sound Studio in Norway, with additional overdubs completed in Scotland and the USA, the album continues the group’s signature blend of blues-rock and melodic songwriting. The Comparison Blues will be released on 27 February 2026.
In a world of quick streams and short attention spans, The Fluffy Jackets have taken a different path — the analogue path: Their new album The Comparison Blues is rooted in classic British blues-rock tradition, and is available on both CD and Vinyl.
The album’s two first singles, “Doc The Doctor” and “Fear and Paranoia”, showcase The Fluffy Jackets at their most dynamic — moving between driving roots-rock grooves and more introspective, atmospheric moments. The third single “Amplified Inspired” is now available.
Produced by lead vocalist and songwriter Helge Rognstad, The Comparison Blues features long-time collaborator Neil Murray on bass. The legendary bassist, known for his work with Whitesnake and Black Sabbath, brings his distinctive melodic bass lines to all the songs on this album. The record also includes guest contributions from US slide guitar player Matt Bradford (Los Angeles, California), whose gritty slide work adds a transatlantic edge to “Doc The Doctor”.
UK-based singer Alison Cooper returns as a featured vocalist, performing a duet with Helge Rognstad on “No Airs or Graces” and contributing backing vocals on “Fear and Paranoia” and "Doc The Doctor", adding warmth and contrast to the album’s vocal palette.

Bio The Fluffy Jackets are energetic blues rockers who deliver a sound that draws from the early days of blues, Americana and classic bands like Bad Company. Formed in 2006 in London by guitarist/vocalist Helge Rognstad and drummer Ian Robinson, The Fluffy Jackets gained traction with live performances in central London for three years. Their debut EP was recorded in 2007 at Cowshed Studio (London, UK) with producer Teo Miller (Blur, Happy Mondays) and featuring Neil Murray (Whitesnake, Black Sabbath). Signing with Cargo Records in 2013, they recorded their first album at the legendary Sun Studio (Memphis, USA) with notable guests. "Fighting Demons" (2014) garnered critical acclaim, produced by Manny Charlton (Nazareth) and engineered by Matt Ross Spang (Jason Isbell, Rival Sons). Their sophomore album, "Something from Nothing" (2019), included a tribute to Glen Campbell. This came with a two-hour DVD; a documentary covering the band’s decade long existence. Collaborating with The Halloween Project (Norway) in 2021, they honored Manny Charlton's 80th birthday with Nazareth covers featuring special guests Ronni Le Tekrø (TNT) and Neil Murray (Whitesnake). Their third album 'The Rise And Fall Of The Songwriter' was released in 2024 and the forth studio album "The Comparison Blues" is released in 2026.
