16. August 2019: Something from Nothing CD + DVD available from Amazon
In the new Fluffy Jackets documentary DVD Something from Nothing, the original Nazareth guitarist and producer Manny Charlton can be seen presenting some of his favourite guitar effects.
Manny Charlton talks about his guitar effect pedals. The film is part of The Fluffy Jackets' blues-rock documentary "Something from Nothing" available via Cargo Records.
"I try to limit the amount of effects I use. On stage I have a Fulltone PlimSoul pedal, a Boss Digital Delay and a Tuner" says Manny Charlton, as he shows a multitude of stompboxes in his home in Cordoba Spain.
"In the studio, I like to record my guitars clean without effects, and with the amp breaking up. If I need more effects I will add these later using digital effects on the computer; these are so sophisticated now so they sound good, but even then I use effects sparingly. I do not want the effects to take away from the sound of the guitar, the sound of the amp and the sound of my playing".
In this unique video, Manny Charlton can be seen presenting some of his favorite effect pedals, including Fulltone OCD and Supa-Trem, a Keeley compressor and a vintage MXR compressor used to record 'Please don't Judas me" on the Nazareth 1975 album Hair of the Dog.
Manny Charlton's pedal show is available as a bonus film on the new Fluffy Jackets'Something from Nothingdocumentary DVD, available in all good music outlets.

About: The Fluffy Jackets first appeared on the London scene with a self-titled EP in 2007, but it was not until 2014 that they made a dent in the charts with the debut album «Fighting Demons». Recorded at the legendary Sun Studio by multiple Grammy Award winning engineer Matt Ross-Spang, the outing won the Blues Hour’s «Best Studio Album of the Year» award and also earned the band their first international hit in «Why Don’t You Smile». The slow blues was made particularly memorable for featuring a sizzling guitar solo from Nazareth guitar legend Manny Charlton, backed up by bassist Neil Murray (Whitesnake) and Jerry Lee Lewis‘ drummer Rob Hall (The Killer Band). The band has just completed the anticipated follow-up. Released by Cargo Records UK, “Something from Nothing” will be available as a limited Digipack consisting of a nine track CD album and a two-hour DVD documentary film.
